FUFA President Raises Concerns Over Namboole Stadium Renovations

Magogo expressed worry about the Ministry of Works' consultant lacking expert engineers in stadium civil works,

Eng. Moses Magogo, the president of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), has raised concerns about the competence of consultants overseeing the renovations at Namboole Stadium.

Magogo expressed worry about the Ministry of Works’ consultant lacking expert engineers in stadium civil works, leading him to appeal to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for another inspection of Namboole Stadium.

Speaking on the controversy surrounding Mandela National Stadium, Magogo informed parliament that the on-site consultant engineer lacks proficiency in stadium works, casting doubt on the quality of the renovations.

“Mistakes have been made in the much-publicized renovated Mandela stadium, Namboole,” Magogo disclosed.

The disagreement between Minister Ogwang and Magogo intensified as they clashed over the stadium renovations, drawing attention from Members of Parliament (MPs) who highlighted a longstanding deadlock between FUFA and the Ministry of Education.

Despite attempts to address the situation, a motion to involve FUFA in the Ministry of Education’s renovation of Namboole Stadium was abandoned after the minister urged parliament to allow the executive to handle the matter.
