Mityana Municipality Member of Parliament, Francis Zaake, faced a setback yesterday at Parliament when he was denied access to the office he previously occupied as a commissioner.

The communication, delivered by the Clerk of Parliament, revealed that Zaake had lost the office on the 5th floor of the North wing at the Parliament premises.

Henry Waiswa, the Deputy Clerk of Corporate Affairs, conveyed the news to Zaake through a letter, informing him of his new office location, now numbered 3.1 at Queens Chambers building on Parliamentary Avenue, in close proximity to the main premises of the Parliament of Uganda.

Despite being accompanied by two lawyers and a robust security detail, Zaake remained steadfast in his demand to regain his former office. He boldly stated to the press at Parliament, “If they do not allow me access to the office, I will expose their secrets.”

However, Waiswa’s decision found validation in a letter from the Clerk of Parliament, Adolf Mwesigye, dated March 1, 2023, in which Zaake was directed to hand over the commissioner’s office to the Sergeant at Arms.
