Court has charged and remanded a woman who chopped her four-month-old baby into pieces and cooked his flesh.
The accused is Nadio Manjubo, 24, and a resident of Chamanikua village, Yayari parish, Lovi sub-county in Yumbe district. It is alleged that on July 19, 2023, Nadio hacked the minor identified as Angelo Buga, because she felt like eating meat.
According to police spokesperson Fred Enanga, the incident happened at 4 pm and the child’s body parts were found stuffed in a saucepan, and boiled. Nadio later confirmed to the police that she cut her own biological child because she felt like eating meat.
He says Nadio has since been charged with murder and appeared before Yumbe court where she was remanded to Yumbe prison on the 21.07.2023.
Enanga has called on parents faced with domestic issues to always seek help from the Child and Family Protection Unit.
“To cut and dismember an innocent child into pieces is absolutely horrific. The crime scene was so disturbing and shows how some parents have lost sense of humanity and love for their children. We urge all parents in challenging domestic settings, to always seek help from the Child and Family Protection Unit, the nearest police station or other child rights defender. It is painful that the 4 month old son, died from the hands of a mother, who was supposed to keep him safe.” he said
