Woman Found Hanging Dead from Tree

Police in Bushenyi District are looking into the suspected suicide of a 46-year-old woman named Kyomuhangi Dinah.

Her lifeless body was discovered hanging from a guava tree in Rwekitooma village on a Sunday afternoon.

Martial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for Greater Bushenyi police, confirmed the occurrence and mentioned that there were no visible injuries on Dinah’s body, except for the noticeable mark from the rope around her neck.

He explains that police officers who visited the scene removed Dinah’s remains from the tree and transported them to Kampala International Teaching Hospital in Ishaka for a postmortem examination.

Tumusiime says investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause of Dinah’s death and whether any external factors contributed to her apparent suicide.

The local authorities say that the deceased’s son identified as Richard Kamusime, informed them that prior to her demise, Dinah urged him to pay her a visit, suggesting that it might be the last opportunity for them to meet.

However, locals reported that Dinah had been grappling with mental health challenges since her childhood, which may have led to this heartbreaking incident.
