Police in Kassaga Village, Nakaseke District, are investigating the alleged murder of a 60 year old witch doctor found dead at his residence.
The deceased identified as Kalemera John Bosco, was killed on March 10th, 2024, at approximately 9:00 PM while at his home. His lifeless body was found on his bed with deep cuts to his head.
Preliminary reports by the police indicate that Kalemera was brutally assaulted with a panga by an unidentified person while he was within his residence.
Shockingly, the assault took place while the victim was in his bed, with his spouse present nearby, fortunately unharmed.
Sam Twimeamazima, the Savanah Regional Police Spokesperson reveals that traces of water mixed with blood were discovered in a basin at the scene by scenes of Crime Officers.
He says by doing this, the killer attempted to clean themselves or the weapon used in the crime.
Twimeamazima further reveals that that statements from witnesses, including the village chairman, to aid in investigations.
He adds that police have taken Kalemera’s wife, Nalukwago Esther, into custody to facilitate further inquiry.
Nalukwago remains detained at Nakaseke Police Station, while the body of the deceased has been conveyed to Nakaseke Hospital for a comprehensive postmortem examination.
