Woman Arrested After Prisons Commander Collapses, Dies in Nwoya Lodge
The police in Nwoya District have launched investigations into circumstances under which the Division Prisons Commander for Amuru and Nwoya Districts died in a bar.
The deceased Charles Ochakacon, 54, collapsed and died moments later on Thursday evening at Continental Bar and lodge in Purongo Town Council, Nwoya District.
According to the the Police, a report from the Bar Manager identified as Cosmas Adyebo,states that the deceased had booked a room for two days upon arriving there on Wednesday.
He adds that the deceased spent was with his girlfriend identified as Flavia Adongo until about 1:30 am on Thursday morning, when she exited his room.
Preliminary findings suggest that on Thursday morning, the deceased again met with Adongo at her restaurant where he ordered a local gin and later returned to his room.
The deceased reportedly returned and had lunch served by Adongo but collapsed dead later at 6 pm will moving out of the lodge.
The Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson, David Ongom Mudong confirmed the incident on Friday saying the deceased was pronounced dead on arrival at Jang Lacor Clinic where he was rushed for emergency medical treatment.
Mudong says police detectives have cordoned off the lodge where the deceased died adding that statements have been recorded from relevant witnesses for investigation.
He notes that scene of crime officers are also making arrangements to secure samples of the food and the local gin the deceased took to aid the further investigation.
Police have arrested and detained Adongo at Nwoya Central Police station for interrogation.
