On August 15, 2019, Bobi Wine, his wife Barbie Kyagulanyi and People Power publicist, Joel Ssenyonyi met with the U.S. Ambassador to Uganda, Deborah Malac.

The meeting was held at the envoy’s residence in Kololo.

According to a source in People Power, the meeting was also attended by two other U.S. politicians.
The meeting was reportedly about Bobi Wine’s presidential bid.

According to the People Power source, the American politicians “offered to mobilise support for Bobi Wine in the United States and internationally”.

The development underscores the growing interest by U.S. politicians in Uganda’s domestic governance.
