The Managing Director of National Enterprise Corporation (NEC) Maj Gen James Mugira has signed a Memorarundum of Understanding with the Chief Executive Officer- Kiira Motors Corporation (KMC) Mr. Paul Isaac Musasizi.

NEC is the business arm of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF).

KMC is a State Enterprise incorporated to undertake the commercialisation of the Kiira Electric Vehicle Project and to champion value addition in the domestic automative industry for job creation and diversification of the economy in line with National Development Plan II and Vision 2040.

The MoU betwen NEC and KMC was signed at the NEC Headquarters in Bugolobi on Wednesday.

NEC through one of its subsidiaries-NEC Construction Works and Engineering Ltd and utilizing UPDF engineers which have since developed capacity for engineering construction and civil works, will be engaged by the KMC for the construction of the Kiira Vehicle Plant Start-Up Facilities at the Jinja Industrial and Business Park; Kagowa Village, Mawaito Parish, Kakira Town Council.
