UPDF Carrying out Decisive Operations Against ADF, Says Museveni
President Yoweri Museveni has warned the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebel group following another operation.
Weeks ago, it emerged that the ADF had planned attacks on revelers at Nyege Nyege Festival in Jinja City.
However, no incident was recorded after strict security deployment.
In a statement on Saturday, on X the President said that Uganda’s security forces on Tuesday carried out “a devastating attack on the pigs in Congo, this time 68 km from the border.“
“We used both ground attack, planes, and medium-range artillery. The results were devastating for these parasites. The Congo forests are no haven for them. That is why some of the remnants are running back into Uganda. We are hunting for them. We shall get them,“ said the President.
The President urged the public to be vigilant for strangers in their area.
Also, he added, “vigilance is needed in markets, churches, mosques, and public transport systems.“
“We are kuhuura (threshing or clubbing like in millet) the main terrorist groups in Congo and we are also dealing with empulunguse (the scattered millet after threshing),“ the President said.
