Police in Kampala are searching for a gang of criminals for robbing property worth 20 million shillings from a church in Kampala.

The unknown thugs raided the church identified as  Living Word Assembly at Plot 21 Lumumba Avenue on Wednesday at 2:00 am.

Patrick Onyango the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson sneaked in from the back to access the sanctuary where several tangible items were stored. They stole five laptops, a CPU, a floodlight mixer and one  TV Screen worth approximately shs 20 million.

“The thieves used the rare part of the church by outstretching the tent canvass to gain entry into the sanctuary,” Onyango said.

He says police detectives have since visited the crime scene and retrieved CCTV camera footage to aid in investigations.

This incident follows a similar robbery at Nswenjere Junior Seminary in Mpigi district where thugs stole  property from the chapel.

The unidentified goons gained entry into the seminary by cutting barbed wires and proceeded to rob the school of various items including a TV, mobile phones, cash, a laptop, and the church tabernacle.

They also beat and injured the seminary vice rector, Fr. Godfrey Kyeyune and Fr. Emmanuel Mukukule.
