Umukuuka III Stresses Unity, Faith, and Responsibility in Easter Monday Prayer Address

Umukuuka III delivered a poignant address at the Easter Monday Prayer Breakfast held at Malukhu Offices in Mbale City, emphasizing unity, faith, and responsibility.

The gathering, attended by esteemed dignitaries, religious leaders, and community members, served as a platform for reflection, prayer, and unity.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to address the assembly on this significant occasion, marking his six-month tenure as Umukuuka III of Bamasaaba (Bugisu and Bukuusu), he highlighted the challenges facing the region and emphasized the importance of prayer in navigating these challenges.

The Umukuuka extended special appreciation to Speaker of the Parliament, Anita Annet Among, for her presence and exemplary leadership. He commended her dedication to serving the nation and her commitment to bridging the gap between leadership and the people.

Recognizing the vital role of religious leaders and faith communities, Umukuuka III emphasized his administration’s strategy to partner closely with them in advancing the cultural and development agenda of the region. He underscored the significance of faith in leadership, acknowledging the enduring faith of Uganda’s founding fathers and the need for divine guidance in the face of complex challenges.

Reflecting on the shared responsibility of leaders, Umukuuka III urged humility and reliance on faith in the pursuit of national development. He emphasized the importance of prayer as a unifying force, bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds and beliefs in common purpose.

Furthermore, Umukuuka III called attention to pressing issues within the community, including the importance of paternal presence in children’s lives, the upcoming Population Census, and the detrimental effects of gambling on the youth.
