Uganda has prioritized strategic infrastructure development, and it has not been long before the results are evident, the Minister of Finance, Matia Kasaija has said.

“We have witnessed increased productivity, efficient connectivity and enjoyed eased movement of goods and services,” he said. In his recent budget speech 2017/18, he lauded the funding so far undertaken in the crucial areas of transport, energy, and ICT.

The minister pointed out that the current funding in these areas consumes 32.8% of the total Government expenditure every year. The significance of this investment can be seen across the expanding infrastructure terrain——–

  • China Uganda
  • Shs 3827.54Bn allocated to Uganda Road Authority
  • Ferry facilities and upgrade of main Landing sites
  • Revamping Uganda Railways
  • Entebbe International Airport Upgrade
  • Development of Uganda’s ICT sector.
