Uganda’s Covid-19 Cases Continue to Drop
Uganda’s COVID-19 positivity rate on Monday dropped to below seven percent for the first time in over six weeks.
At the same time, the number of people admitted to hospital with COVID-19 fell to below 700 and fatalities due to the virus also dropped.
The findings, which were released by the ministry of health on Monday, put the country’s positivity rate at 6.6 percent, active cases admitted to hospital at 688 and deaths were 22 respectively.
This comes towards the end of a 42-day lockdown that was announced by President Museveni with the aim of stemming the further spread of the deadly virus.
The president is soon expected to address the nation on the way forward.
