Armed Forces Training: Ugandan Contingent Honored for Outstanding Performance

The Ugandan contingent that participated in the 13th East African Community Armed Forces Field Training Exercise, codenamed ‘Ushirikiano Imara’, in Rwanda, has received accolades for their exceptional performance.

Brig Gen Micheal Kabango, Chief of Staff – Land Force, commended the contingent for upholding Uganda’s standards during the exercise. He expressed confidence in their ability to apply the skills acquired to future assignments.

Brig Gen Alex Olupot, Joint Staff ,Training and Doctrine, praised the contingent for their enthusiastic participation in the exercise, which rotates among East African Community member states. He highlighted the excellent cooperation between various components, including the UPDF, Uganda Police, Uganda Prisons, and civilians, from preparation to completion.

The ceremony, held at the Non-Commissioned Officers Academy in Jinja, was attended by distinguished guests.

Among them were Brig Gen Chris Ogwal, Commandant Junior Command and Staff College; Brig Gen Peter Omola, Commandant Uganda Rapid Deployment Capability Centre; Brig Gen Emmanuel Kanyesigye, Jinja Cantonment Commander; senior UPDF officers; and representatives from Uganda Prisons Service and Uganda Police Force.
