Uganda to Showcase at the Prestigious OTM Show in India.

The Uganda High Commission in New Delhi in partnership with Uganda Airlines is set to unveil
the first ever Uganda Pavilion at the prestigious is Indo-Asia’s travel market show dubbed as Open (Outbound) Travel Market (OTM), the leading travel – trade show in India and Asia scheduled to take place from 30 January to 2nd February 2025 at JIO World Convention Center, Bombay.

The Indian travel market is at its inflection point and ranks among the world’s fastest-growing markets. According to an Expedia report, by 2025, there is an anticipation of 13.9 million leisure departures from India, resulting in 19.4million Indian visitor arrivals abroad, driven by Tier II and Tier III cities.

Business travel accounts for 26% of outbound trips, making India one of the largest global markets for business travel. Out of these arrivals, Mumbai leads as India’s primary outbound market contributing 63% to the MICE and business travel form the country. Mumbai also serves as the commercial and financial center and a home to Bollywood, India’s premier film industry.

In particular, the OTM 2025 will be held in Mumbai India, is the largest and leading travel show in Asia – with over 1600+ exhibitors from 60+ countries and at least 30+ Indian states. The expo provides access to 40,000+ trade visitors and 1000+ top buyers across various industry sectors, all with the support of a strong hosted buyer program. In its last edition, the show grew
by 50% and remains pivotal in the development and promotion of tourism in East Asia. OTM provides a platform for quality networking, connecting exhibitors, tour operators and travel agents from all over the world, with wedding planners, film producers wedding planners, MICE and corporate buyers.

Beyond the exhibition, OTM features knowledge-sharing and networking events, including insightful panel discussions, workshops, and masterclasses in the OTM Forum. Furthermore, the Network of Indian MICE Agents (NIMA) also hosted a ‘MICE India Meet,’ facilitating interactions with various destinations, with a specific focus on tapping into the Indian MICE scene.

The OTM Forum facilitates dialogue on essential trends and strategies shaping the USD$50 billion Indian travel market. Industry experts shared their insights, fostering meaningful partnerships within the thriving travel sector.

According to research reports, OTM remains the number one trade show in India and Aisa ahead of ITB Asia, ITB India, and SATTE Delhi. The study commissioned by NielsenlQ – the world’s leading consumer intelligence company, the expo highlighted the event’s leadership position, improved visitor satisfaction, venue quality against other expos.

Therefore, to tap into the vast opportunities provided by OTM, the Uganda High Commission in
New Delhi, together with Uganda Airlines have acquired 48 square meters of stand space to host a delegation of Uganda Tour stakeholders – both public and private sector stakeholders. Eight (08) companies recommended by the Association of Uganda Tour Operators have been selected to participate at OTM alongside the Uganda Tourism Board, the Uganda Wildlife Authority and the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife & Antiquities.
