Uganda has today hosted the inaugural Uganda Connect International Buyers week at Munyoyo Commonwealth Resort in a move aimed at boosting and expanding global trade profile and markets for locally produced goods.
The event hosted under the theme “Meet, Connect and Trade” has brought vetted international buyers, investors, trade representatives and Ugandan exporters for business meetings, product exhibition and deal negotiations an initiative of government to directly link Ugandan exporters to global demand and strengthen long term trade relationships.
The event has brought speakers such as H.E. Wamkele Mene the Secretary General of the African Continental Free Trade Area, Shaquana Teasley, Chief Executive Officer of Agate solutions, Olivier Kamanzi, Trade Representative of United States to Uganda, with practical insights on entering competitive markets, meeting international standards, supply chain readiness, navigating global buyer expectations and unlocking opportunities under African Continental Free Trade Area.
