Uganda Cranes Coach Micho Sacked Again.
Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin Sredojevic “Micho” has been relived of his national team coaching duties, it’s confirmed.
FUFA announced Micho sacking this Thursday evening via a brief official statement posted on the federation’s website.
“Today, Thursday 14th September 2023, FUFA and Mr. Milutin Sredojevic agreed to mutually end the existing employment contract between the two parties,” the statement reads in part.
“FUFA appreciates all efforts and commitment by Mr. Milutin during his period as Head coach of Uganda Cranes. It is Our Game, It is Our Country.”
This is the second time for the Serbian wolf and FUFA to part ways having initially left Uganda in 2017 before his reappointment in July 2021 on a three-year deal.
The development follows Uganda Cranes failure to reach next year’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament due in Ivory Coast having finished third in the qualification campaign behind Algeria and neighbors Tanzania.
In the qualifiers, Uganda Cranes finished on seven points after managing two away wins against Niger (0-2), Tanzania (0-1) and a draw against the former (1-1) in Kitende.
Algeria (16 points) and Tanzania (8 points) occupied the first two qualification slots in group F.
