Trio Arrested for Attempted Robbery at Hon, Munyagwa’s Residence

Police in Nsangi are holding three suspects linked to a series of aggravated robbery and attempted murder incidents that shook Kyengera Town Council.

The suspects, identified as Igga Meddy, Safari Allan, and Kwizera Mansur, were taken into custody in connection with the alarming incidents involving victims Musoke Collins, Ssebufu Kenneth, Namutebi Winnie, Kalanzi Juma, Emuroni Michael, and Male Shaffic on December 29, 2023.

The crimes left victims injured and resulted in the theft of valuable items, including a 65-inch television, around 2 million in cash, and 10 phones.

Furthermore, the suspects were implicated in a raid at the residence of Honourable Mubarak Munyangwa in Kimbeja cell on January 3, 2024. During this incident, the security guard, Benjamin Mpaka, sustained injuries.

Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy spokesman says the suspected criminals targeted homes in Budo, Kimbeja, and Kyengera town council, leaving destruction in their wake.

He notes that during their arrest on January 16 2023, police  discovered telephone lines linked to illicit money transfers during the robberies.

He further pins the suspects for the theft of 10 mobile phones, some containing mobile money, 2 million shillings, a smart screen and a vehicle Max ‘X’, and the suspects were also found in possession of breaking implements believed to have been used in these crimes.

According to police, the trio is part of a larger group of 6-8 members,and is now facing charges of Aggravated Robbery and Attempted Murder.
