He told journalists during a press briefing on Wednesday that the highways remained relatively peaceful, emphasizing the need for a closer examination of safety protocols in less urbanized areas.

Kananura says one major tragic accident was reported in Kapachorwa,  on December 26th, 2023, at 4:00 pm. The fatal crash occurred at Towei Corner Kapsindi along the Kapchorwa – Mbale Road, involving a Prado Land Cruiser with registration number UBD 074J.
