In a dazzling event held at the Sheraton Kampala Information Center on March 13, 2024, Miss Tourism Uganda unveiled the much-anticipated new edition for the search of the queens of 2024.
The launch event, themed “Tourism and Peace,” was graced by the esteemed State Minister for Tourism, Hon. Mugarra Bahinduka, as the guest of honor.
Embracing the UN’s chosen theme, the evening aimed to spotlight the pivotal role of tourism in fostering peace and unity within communities. Attendees reveled in the celebration of Uganda’s cultural richness, amidst glitz, glamour, and a palpable sense of camaraderie.
The competition, designed for inclusivity, will kick off across 12 regions. Here, three exceptional young women from each region will emerge victorious, earning the esteemed privilege of representing their region at the national level.
Promising a jubilant journey filled with grace, intellect, and charisma, the competition serves as a platform for ambassadors to champion important values and advocate for positive change within their communities.
Adding a touch of glamour and excitement, Darling, the renowned beauty brand, announced its sponsorship, offering a luxurious car for the national top winner.
The countdown to the grand event begins with the boot camp set to commence on August 26, 2024, at the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC). Thirty-six contestants from diverse regions will undergo rigorous training and development sessions, equipping them with essential skills and knowledge to represent Uganda’s cultural heritage.
Following an intensive week, 16 contestants will be eliminated, leaving 20 finalists to vie for the coveted crown. The public is encouraged to participate by voting for their favorite contestants.
