Todwong Assures Police Officers’ Spouses of Government’s Commitment to Their Well-Being

The NRM Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong, conveyed a heartfelt commitment to enhancing the welfare of police officers’ spouses during a gathering at the Kampala Metropolitan barracks. He pledged to collaborate with relevant authorities to address issues such as inadequate housing, unreliable power for small-scale businesses, and the lack of capital and skills for productive engagement.

Todwong emphasized the importance of hearing the concerns and needs of these spouses and working together to provide support. He expressed gratitude for their dedication to the NRM party and their support for their spouses during their demanding duties.

Additionally, the gathering raised the issue of harassment and mistreatment of officers whose wives support the NRM party. Todwong sternly warned against such intimidation and promised a thorough investigation to uphold the rights of NRM supporters.

Furthermore, the women leaders appealed for empowerment through SACCOs, the establishment of secondary schools for their children, and the creation of skilling centers for productive skill development. The NRM’s commitment to these endeavors was echoed by the director of Mobilization, Hon. Rosemary Seninde, and the director of External Affairs, Maj(Rtd) Awich Polar, who pledged to address concerns, including improving officers’ salaries.
