Three suspected criminals were shot dead on Sunday morning during a joint security operation conducted in Kabojja, Kasenge Parish, Kyengera Town Council.

Racheal Kawala the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesman says the operation, carried out at around 8 a.m. on December 1, was triggered by intelligence indicating that the group was trailing a businesswoman with the intention of robbing her. According to preliminary findings, the suspects were armed with knives, breaking tools, toy guns, and other items used to stage violent attacks.

Two suspects were killed instantly, while a third died from injuries while being transported to Mulago National Referral Hospital.

Security personnel recovered several items at the scene, including suspected forged documents. Among the exhibits was a police warrant card reportedly issued in 2016, and a national identity card bearing the name Kachinwa Moses.

The bodies of the three suspects were taken to Mulago City Mortuary for post-mortem examinations. Investigations into the group’s criminal activities and possible accomplices are ongoing.
