Three people have died following a single vehicle crash at Impala Interchange along the Entebbe Expressway at approximately 6:30 a.m. on 16 March 2026.
The accident involved a Toyota Land Cruiser, registration number UBG 734S, driven by Ssenyonjo Bosco, a businessman from Masaka, who was travelling with family towards Entebbe. Police reports indicate that the driver lost control of the vehicle due to speeding, causing it to first collide with the basement of a street light pole, then hit a road pillar before overturning multiple times.
Micheal Kananura, the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety says three occupants, including the driver, died instantly, while two others sustained serious injuries. Traffic Police responded promptly, rescuing the injured and taking them to a Grade B Hospital for first aid, before referral to another medical facility for further care.
The deceased were conveyed to City Mortuary for postmortem examinations as investigations into the crash continue.
Kananura urges all motorists to drive safely and adhere to speed limits to prevent similar tragedies.
