Three people have been arrested in connection with yesterday’s armed robbery in Nansana in which two people were shot dead on the spot and several others wounded at a hardware shop.

The third victim Amin Begembe who was injured in the shooting died at Mulago hospital where he had been taken for treatment, bringing the total of the dead to three.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirmed the arrests. “We have arrested three suspects to assist us with investigations,” Onyango said.

He added that the Police had kept the identities of the suspect secret is not to jeopardize investigations and that they were following good leads.

Onyango also confirmed the death of Bugembe who he noted passed away while being treated.

On Wednesday, six men raided Cheap Hardware shop in Nansana as the workers were preparing to bank the day’s sales which sources say stretched into millions of shillings.

Three of the men who were armed with AK47 rifles and were wearing masks indiscriminately opened fire killing two staff on the spot and later stole an undisclosed amount of money.
