Kampala police have apprehended three suspects in connection to the shooting incident that occurred on Tuesday night in Kabuusu, Rubaga Division, at Banxele Forex Bureau, resulting in the tragic death of a security guard.

The deceased, identified as Agama Peter, 36, attached to Wolves Security Group, was shot dead by suspected thieves riding on a boda boda, who later fled the scene with his gun.

According to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police, the assailants, armed with a rifle, attacked Agama in what appears to be an aggravated robbery. They swiftly fled the scene after the attack, leaving Agama fatally wounded.

He says eyewitnesses recounted the fast-paced nature of the assailants’ actions, prompting a speedy response from security officers. Police chased after the suspects, leading to their eventual arrest in the Kawaala zone at Premier Betting.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Sebuma Hussein (alias Obote), Dumba David, and Abdullah Jumah, were found in possession of two firearms believed to be used in the crime. One firearm bore the registration number UG PSO 56 4000868 12452, with 13 rounds, presumed to belong to the deceased, while the other firearm had 10 rounds.

The body of the deceased, which bore three gunshot wounds, has been conveyed to the City Mortuary Mulago for postmortem examination.
