President Yoweri Museveni has said that those who are causing chaos around the country will face the consequences.

Museveni said this while addressing NRM leaders in Kotido on Thursday a day after violent demonstrations erupted in parts of the country following the arrest of Bobi Wine who is accused of continued violation of campaign guidelines aimed at stemming the further spread of the deadly coronavirus.

“They have entered an area of fighting we know very well. Whoever started it will regret it. Some of these groups are being used by outsiders who don’t like the stability and independence of Uganda but will discover what they are looking for,” Museveni said.

The president added, “Those who have been attacking NRM people in Kampala will soon lose that appetite. You will see uniform of NRM and won’t touch it. Even if they abandon it you won’t touch it. They want to create violence so that elections are not held. Elections will continue”.

Meanwhile, President Yoweri Museveni will this Sunday, November 22, address the nation on the current security situation.

This was revealed by the spokesperson of the Government, Ofwono Opondo, during a talk show last night.

“He will be addressing the nation, especially in relation to the riots which have been happening in various parts of the country,” he said.
