Thinking That Bobi Wine Can Be President of Uganda Is Madness – John Nagenda
Senior Presidential Advisor on the media, John Nagenda thinks that Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine needs a whopping two decades to mature enough to run for president, adding that those who think that the musician can run a country now are mad.
“Any person who thinks that Bobi Wine could run a country must be mad,” Nagenda said.
While appearing on NBS Television’s Morning Breeze programme on Monday, the veteran journalist said that whereas Bobi Wine is a good singer, he is not good enough to run the affairs of this country as president.
“Mugisha Muntu was a reasonable leader of the army and he is well spoken but I would not expect him to make a good leader. Dr. Kizza Besigye has stood four times, losing very easily every time and bleating that he was cheated. I believe Bobi Wine is a good singer but to become president maybe in 20 years if he starts now,” Nagenda said.
The 80-year-old Nagenda added that it would be a huge miracle if Bobi Wine and his ‘youth power’ influence triumph over President Yoweri Museveni’s National Resistance Movement (NRM) which is still indomitable in the rural areas which constitute a bigger percentage of the country’s voting population.
The controversial presidential advisor also added that it is time for the ruling NRM party to appoint a successor for president Museveni. Nagenda also believes that whoever will replace President Museveni “without a shadow of a doubt in my mind, will be from the NRM.”
