Uganda Breweries Limited has launched the Eyo Red Card campaign – an initiative dedicated to promoting responsible drinking and ensuring that every great night out ends safely.

The campaign comes at a time when the recently released traffic report shows that over 23,608 accidents were recorded in 2023, and of these, 4,179 were fatal, 12,487 were serious. It is believed that drunk driving is one of the lead causes of road carnage in Uganda,

Drinking responsibly means:
1.      Pacing yourself – Knowing your limits.
2.      Setting boundaries – Make informed choices [like eating before you drink and spacing your alcohol with water or soft drinks]
3.      Planning ahead – Never drinking and driving.

During the campaign launch that took place at Skz Hotel in Nagguru, the Corporate Relations Director, Sheila Sabune noted, “We want to see more Ugandans making smart choices – pacing themselves, setting limits, and most importantly, never drinking and driving.”

We call upon everyone to take the responsibility of ensuring that we are all prioritizing safety, and smarter drinking habits! DRINKiQ.com

The event was attended by other corporate companies, members from KACITA, bar operators and owners, bloggers among others.
