The former Resident District Commissioner of Kikuube District Amlan Tumusiime has vividly come out to thank the people of Hoima District for voting his son Uthman Mugisha Mubarak as the Chairman of Hoima District Local Government.

Tumusiime who sounded emotional lashed out to formidable Politicians from the district who worked tirelessly to fight and bring down his son yet he has worked and served beyond expectations. Among the names he mentioned were the State Minister for Public Service Mary Mugasa and Bugahya Constituency Member of Parliament Pius Wakabi.

Uthman Mugisha who contested has an independent was able to get 25, 343 votes defeating Vincent Muhumuza Savana who got 19, 541 votes who is the also the NRM party flag bearer and long time contender in the Politics of Hoima district.

“Thank you the people of Hoima District for voting Uthman Mugisha and wiping my tears, for the two years Uthman has been finishing his biological father’s term who died in an accident and we expect him to perform much better especially in areas of agriculture, roads and clean water, said Amlan Tumusiime.

Shortly after being declared winner by Hassan Takwana District Returning Officer, Uthman Mugisha expressed his gratitude to the people of Hoima for entrusting him with the full term of 5 years emphasing the importance of active participation in the election as a manifestation of constitutional right. He promised to prioritise issues of land grabbing, land eviction and social services delivery in the new term and also called for collaborative efforts between the technical and political wings to ensure effective service delivery to the people of Hoima.
