Teacher Who Defiled Five Under age Girls Commited to High Court
The International Criminal Division of the High Court has confirmed charges against Kakooza Moses, also known as Mpanga Aldo,for defiling minors.
The primary school teacher is accused of multiple counts of aggravated defilement and trafficking.
The ruling was delivered by pre-trial Judge Hon. Richard Wejuli Wabwire.
Kakooza has been committed to trial before the panel of the International Criminal Division of the High Court, with proceedings and the ruling transmitted to the head of the division for further action.
Kakooza Moses faces trial for five counts of aggravated defilement under Section 129, four counts of indecent assault under Section 128 of the Penal Code Act Cap 120, and nine counts of aggravated trafficking in children under Sections 3 and 5 of the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons Act, 2009.
According to the prosecution, between 2019 and 2020, Kakooza, while teaching at Step by Step Primary School on Kyewamala Road, Nansana, Wakiso District, had sexual intercourse with five underage girls. Additionally, he allegedly indecently assaulted four underage girls, aged between 12 and 17 years, during the same period. Furthermore, it is alleged that between 2018 and 2020, in Mukono and Wakiso Districts, Kakooza received, transported, or harbored one of his victims for sexual exploitation and sexually exploited other school girls in Wakiso District.
The prosecution’s case was built on witness testimonies, including statements from colleagues at Step by Step Primary School, victims’ statements, medical reports, and police statements. Based on this evidence, the pre-trial judge confirmed all 18 counts in the amended indictment against the accused.
