The Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among has stated that a group of unknown people are after her life.
During plenary on Thursday, Among told Members of Parliament that she had received a report indicating that her vehicle was being trailed by suspected assassins. She emphasized that up to now, her car is still being followed by suspected assassins.
“I have got a report and I have only shared this with the Leader of Opposition [Mr Mathias Mpuuga] and now I can officially tell you [MPs in plenary]. I have got an assassination report wanting to assassinate me,” she said
Among however assured her haters that she will not be intimidated by them, because God is protecting her.
“Whoever wants to assassinate Anita, let me inform you that I was put in this chair by God and I will serve until I get tired,” she said
Among who voted by 415 out of 529 legislators and declared Speaker of the 11th Parliament in March 2022.
She replaced the former Speaker, Jacob Oulanyah who died in Seattle, Washington, United States of America.
