South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to Strengthen Bilateral Relations During Two-Day Visit to Uganda

South African President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa, will visit Uganda for two working days that is, April 15 – 16, 2024.

The visit is aimed at strengthening the excellent bilateral relations between the Republic of Uganda and the Republic of South Africa.

President Ramaphosa’s visit was confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Uganda on social media X.

“H.E Cyril Ramaphosa, the President of the Republic of South Africa will be in Uganda on a two-day working visit from 15th to 16th April 2024. His visit will strengthen the existing bilateral relations between Uganda & South Africa,” the Ministry wrote on X.

Uganda is ranked South Africa’s 15th largest trading partner in Africa and the second largest in East Africa.

Some of South Africa’s investments in Uganda include MTN, Standard Bank Group, Absa Group, Multichoice, Quantum Foods, Tiger Brands, Woolworths, Convergence Partners, and Sanlam Group among others.

President Ramaphosa hosted his Ugandan counterpart, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, for a State Visit to Pretoria in February 2023.

President Museveni’s visit was directed at consolidating bilateral relations between the two countries with discussions between the two Heads of State encompassing political, economic, regional, continental, and international issues.

The Business Forum offered the private sector in South Africa and Uganda a platform to explore trade and investment opportunities.
