Soroti Police Search for Missing Egyptian Trader

The police in  Soroti West Division are investigating the disappearance of an Egyptian National who went missing pn Friday under unclear circumstances.

The alleged victim is Ahmed Zinhom Ibrahim Selim, 32, a businessman dealing in kitchenware accessories and a resident of Cell A, Campswahili Ward in Soroti City East Division.

According to locals, Zinhom was last seen at his home on Friday evening, February 23, 2024, with two friends Muhammad Nabil Ali, an Egyptian national and another unidentified. It’s believed that on Saturday, February 24, 2024, Zinhom’s employee, Mark Kisolo, went to his house but found the door locked with the key near the window. When Kisolo went inside, he didn’t find anyone there. He found Zinhom’s trousers, which he wore on the night he went missing.

Oscar Gregg Ageca, the East Kyoga Regional Police Spokesman, said they officially filed a missing person report on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Soroti City East Division. He mentioned they suspect foul play based on their investigation of Zinhom’s house by detectives and crime scene officers.

The police are asking for information about Ahmed Zinhom Ibrahim Selim. They can be contacted on toll-free numbers 112 or 999, or people can go to East Kyoga regional headquarters or Soroti West Division Police Station.
