Socialite Don Nasser Remanded for Child Trafficking, Defilement

The Buganda Road Magistrates Court has on Monday Morning remanded City socialite Nasser Nduhukire, also known as Don Nasser, to Luzira Prison until October 08, 2024.

In a court session presided over by Chief Magistrate His Worship Ronald Kayiizi, Nasser was remanded alongside his co- accused 19-year-old Promise. He faces charges of aggravated trafficking in children for sexual exploitation, as well as defilement.

Prosecution alleges that in May 2024, Don Nasser, in collaboration with others still at large, transported a 16-year-old girl from Tagore Apartments at Acacia Mall and held her captive for four days at his residence in Kito, Kira Division. He is accused of luring the minor into sexual exploitation, drug abuse, and pornography.

Nasser who had been on the run for several months, was arrested in Kenya over the weekend and repatriated to Uganda.

In court, he denied all charges. His co-accused, had been previously released on bail but was remanded after an amendment to the charge sheet.

Nasser has been charged with two offenses: aggravated trafficking of a minor for sexual exploitation and defilement. The maximum penalty for these crimes is death.

Both are now being held at Luzira Prison, pending further investigations.

The state prosecutor, Ivan Kyazze, informed the court that the investigation is still ongoing, and additional evidence is being gathered.
