She Cranes Depart for Fast 5 Netball World Series in New Zealand
Uganda’s She Cranes netball team has officially departed for New Zealand to represent the nation at the Fast 5 Netball World Series scheduled for November 9-10, 2024.
The team, consisting of 12 players, received a heartfelt send-off from Deputy Minister of Sports Peter Ogwanga, who emphasized the importance of competing with dignity and pride on the international stage.
Under the guidance of coach Nelson Bogere, the squad includes notable players such as Irene Eyalu, Sandra Nambirige, Margaret Bagaala, Christine Namulumba, Shadia Nassanga, Mary Nuba, and Faridah Kadondi, among others.
This tournament marks the She Cranes’ second appearance at the Fast 5 World Series, with their first participation in a previous edition showcasing their growing stature in the sport
The competition will feature teams from New Zealand, the UK, Australia, South Africa, Jamaica, and Uganda, highlighting the global nature of the event and the caliber of teams involved. The She Cranes are poised to make a strong showing, aiming to build on their past experiences and perform well against some of the best teams in the world
