Security Urges Public Vigilance as ADF Sends Armed Extremists to Kampala
In a fresh development, information from Regional Counter Terrorism Center has revealed that the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) have shifted tactics after facing significant pressure from joint forces in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Reports indicate that the ADF has dispatched armed individuals with weapons and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) to Kampala and its environs with malicious intentions.
It is reported the terrorists are targeting individuals who do not support their cause or have surrendered to the government, along with government officials.
They are also planning to carry out attacks by detonating explosives at places of worship and crowded public areas like bars, supermarkets, taxi/bus parks, and markets.
This dire situation prompts a crucial call to the public to exercise enhanced vigilance, as has been the norm, and take the following precautions:
- Report or apprehend any suspicious individuals in bars, hotels, restaurants, or residential areas.
- Conduct thorough security checks on all individuals at entry points and premises.
Security agencies assure all citizens that they are prepared to swiftly respond to any alerts or emergencies at any given time.
Security agencies further urge the public to remain observant, stay safe, and report any concerning activities to the authorities promptly.
The public is also urged to unite to combat this threat effectively.
