A suspected suicide bomber identified as Abdul Katumba was arrested yesterday afternoon in Pader town by Joint Security Forces, the UPDF deputy spokesperson has confirmed.
According to Lt Col Ronald Kakurungu, the motive of the suspect was to disrupt the burial of late Maj Gen Paul Lokech. See statement for details below.
The former Deputy Inspector General of Police died last Saturday following an injury that triggered two blood clots.
Gen Lokech will be buried this Friday at his country home in Pader district.
