Uganda’s opposition leader Kizza Besigye; a few weeks back announced that he will not be participating in the upcoming general elections against the incumbent. While speaking to his supporters at the Forum for democratic change (FDC) offices in Kampala, despite calls from his radical supporters for him to pick nomination forms and compete for the fifth time.

He also repeated his claim that he won the 2016 elections and that he should be the president of Uganda and not President Museveni.

We all recall that he has stood against President Museveni four times and all the time claiming being cheated out by the incumbent, petitioning courts of law that have always upheld the decision of the citizens that vote President Museveni in power.

According to Besigye, he is still in the struggle to make sure Ugandans are free from what he calls captivity but emphasized that he will be operating plan B as others concentrate on Plan A in order to remove President Y.K Museveni from power come 2021.

But does Besigye really have a plan B and what is it since he himself is shy to say what it is? Not even his supporters have an idea or his comrades at Najjanakumbi. In all past elections, Besigye has been announcing a plan of action to his radicalized supporters that would finally ensure that President Museveni leaves power. At one time he promised the people along Masaka/Mbarara road that they would see Museveni on his way to Rwakitura (his village home) after losing the presidency, only for them to wait for close to 20 years in vain.

Besigye again promised a Tsunami that would sweep president Museveni off the leadership of Uganda but15 plus years down the road, he is still the president, he announced and engaged in the walk to work riots after the 2011 general election with the hope that the population would join him and cause a Libya-like revolution and he ended it a very sad and bitter man. With the help of some good for nothing CSOs, he tried a Black Monday in the guise of fighting corruption, then hooting hours, all to end in total failure.

After 2016, he did the last embarrassing act to be seen in the history of this country if not globally, he announced himself the president and was sworn in by an equally deranged friend of his Erias Lukwago and announced people’s government in defiance, established a headquarter at Katonga road and called for the international intervention to reinstate him as the president only to be ignored. Tubalemese campaigns also proved a very big failure as he was continuously ignored by the government, the citizens, and his own party members. This was the last nail in his political coffin.

He again promised that the incumbent would not complete his five-year term and that he won’t be on the ballot in 2021 but we all know that the term is ending and we are 100% sure that President Museveni will be on the ballot and Col Besigye won’t.

The departure of Mugisha Muntu to begin his political party after he was undermined by the defiant Katonga group did not help matters as it drained FDC of moderate leadership, where many leaders who could have worked as the glue to the party left with Gen. Muntu, and then the emergence of Bobi Wine that ate into FDC’s radicalized urban youths dwindled his political base including his former financial sources.

Besigye saw all this and realized that it would be suicidal to attempt a fifth defeat as this time he had lost the number one sport as an opposition figurehead in the country, so he needed a face-saving exit and he announced a plan B that he needed to concentrate on as the rest focus on plan A.

However, we all know that his past record of threats and empty promises have not only failed but left him an embarrassed and very angry man, this is evidenced by his statement about the elites in the country and how they are the number one enemy of the country for failing to join his political adventurism. So there is actually no plan B but a hoax for face-saving his political comedy.
