Sad & Regrettable: Balaam Furious After Chameleone Gets Range Rover on NRM Return
Events guru Balaam Barugahara of the Balaam Marketing and Promotions Agency has lambasted the return of Jose Chameleone to the NRM, describing it as a disgrace.
Mr Barugahara who has positioned himself as the leading mobilizer of the NRM in the entertainment industry was probably gutted by the fact that Jose Chameleone who has been flip-flopping in terms of party loyalty could be given such a huge gift overlooking others like himself.
After a video showing the legendary singer receiving the keys of the Range Rover was shared on a WhatsApp group, Balaam responded with two words.
“Sad and Regrettable,” Balaam reacted without adding any further explanation of his submission.
It is said that Balaam and Chameleone no longer look eye to eye following an incident in which the events promoter reported the singer to URA for not paying tax on one of the singer’s cars.
Following this development, Chamileone branded Balaam a Judas (traitor).
It should be remembered that musicians Bebe Cool and Catherine Kusasira were also each given brand new Landcrusiers popularly known as ‘mpenkoni’ during the 2021 campaigns.
Chamili Speaks out
Meanwhile the legendary musician announced that he has never left the National Resistance Movement (NRM) denouncing his membership from Robert Kyagulanyi’s National Unity Platform (NUP) party and Democratic Party to which he was National Mobiliser in the last elections.
Chameleone said this while meeting the NRM officials led by Museveni’s younger brother Michael Nuwagira alias Toyota who was reportedly hosting a birthday celebration for his wife Barbrah in Munyonyo.
The NRM officials on welcoming the celebrated singer back to the ruling party gifted him a brand new Black Range Rover Sport.
“My greatest witness can be Mr. Toyota, my friend, I am still your family, I have never left NRM. If you doubt that, put up your cameras and record me. I am still NRM,” Chameleone said.
He said that he had his issues and situations, but he is a prodigal son.
The singer’s speech must have moved Toyota who snatched him off the stage, held his hand, and led him to where his car, a Range Rover 2021 model was parked.
On reaching the vehicle, Toyota handed his keys to Chameleone and gifted him the car.
It is at this moment that the singer went down on his knees as a ‘thank you’ gesture.
During the run-up to the 2016 presidential elections, Chameleone was the lead singer in the popular Tubonga Naawe song that headlined President Museveni’s campaign on the entertainment front.
However, in the just-concluded election, Jose Chameleone unsuccessfully contested for the Lord Mayorship of Kampala. He was said he represented the DP and that he was backed by the People Power pressure group.
