Locals in Luwero, Kasana have revealed that the s.4 student who committed suicide on Sunday tried suicide several times.
The deceased Fred Ssekabira,16, a student of Everest College in Luwero Town Council, reportedly killed himself by hanging to a rope on a tree in his vicinity on Sunday morning at 5:00 am.
His lifeless body was discovered with a rope tied to his neck close to his residence at Kasana playgrounds by passers by.
Locals claim the deceased was always frustrated and protested whenever his parents took him to school, they allege that Ssekabira always refused schooling under unclear circumstances and preferred to stay at home doing nothing.
Ronald Ndawula, the Director of Everest College says the deceased had always swallowed piriton tablets while threatening to take his life, but in vain. He adds that Ssekabira was always dragged to school by his parents but isolated himself and looked depressed.
He previously swallowed piriton and said he would commit suicide, he disturbed his parents and refused school. The boy looked psychologically tortured. He said
According to Patrick Lule, the Acting Savannah region police spokesperson, detectives visited the scene and picked up the body and preliminary findings suggest the deceased committed suicide.
