The High Court in Wakiso has sentenced a self proclaimed prophet to 40 years in jail for defilimg a16 year old girl, fathering twins with her and infecting the minor with HIV.
Prophet Elijah James Kimera, 35, of Faith Centre Church of All Nations at Lusanja in Wakiso appeared before HighCpurt judge Margaret Mutonyi for ruling on his case.
Evidence revealed to the court showed that the self styled prophet had carnal knowledge with the mother to the teenage girl before sexually assaulting her daughter.
Both were members of the prophet’s church.
The victim, a senior three student then and 16 years old, first met the pastor when she expressed interest in joining the church choir to serve. She also privately sought spiritual guidance from the ‘man of God’ that ended in her pregnancy. Prophet Elijah is accused of defiling the minor in his car at night while parked in the church premises.
He further had sex with the victim and proceeded to cohabit with her until she delivered her babies, even after being accused of defiling the minor and being granted bail.
In her ruling on March 18, 2024, Justice Mutonyi stated that besides defiling and cohabiting with a minor, the prophet erroed when he had sexual intercourse with borh mother and child. He also denied knowledge of the victim’s location while cohabiting with her.
Much as Prophet Elijah pleaded guilty and begged for forgiveness from the court, Justice Mutonyi still sentenced him to 40 years jail time, including the time he spent on remand.
The sentence was also based on the argument that prophet Elijah impregnated both mother and daughter, infecting them with HIV.
