The Prime Minister of Uganda, Robinah Nabbanja, officially launched the construction of the Kabwoya-Buhuka Road in Kikuube District today, representing H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at the event.

According to the President, the project aligns with the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government’s commitment to strengthening the economy by developing and improving both social and economic infrastructure.

He emphasized that such investments are crucial in fostering national growth and urged local leaders and the community to actively support the successful execution of the project.

The road, categorized under the Critical Oil Roads Package 6A, spans a distance of 43 kilometers and will connect key areas, including Kabwoya, Kisaru, Wairagaza, Ngogole, Kyangwali, and Buhuka.

The primary objective of this project is to upgrade the existing gravel road to bitumen standard, ensuring seamless connectivity to the Kingfisher oil drilling site.

This infrastructure development is a vital component in facilitating Uganda’s ongoing oil exploration activities and enhancing economic opportunities in the region.

The project is fully funded by the Government of Uganda, and construction will be carried out by China Railway Seventh Group Co. Ltd.

The roadworks are set to commence immediately and will be completed within a projected timeline of 36 months.
