Primary School Pupil Abducted and Killed on Her Way Home
The police in Nakaseke district have apprehended a suspect in connection with the abduction and murder of an 8-year-old primary one pupil at Ngoma Church of Uganda Primary School.
The deceased Ayikolu Patricia disappeared from her fellow pupils on thier way back home from school on March 21, 2024, at approximately 1:00 PM.
Preliminary findings indicate that the victim and two of her classmates, Lesu Aaron and Matiya, all in primary one, were approached by a stranger who lured Ayikolu away under the pretense of chasing a hen. The stranger gave the boys 2000 shillings and instructed them to wait for Ayikolu, but he then led her into nearby bushes and disappeared with her.
Upon realizing her prolonged absence, the two boys informed her parents, prompting an immediate search.
The deceased’s lifeless body was found three days later, in a farm, with her tongue and brain parts missing.
According to the father, Taban Vincent, a teacher at the same school where his child studied, Ayikolu left home in Kasambya village, Ngoma Town Council, at around 6:30 an on the day of her disappearance. The deceased was staying with the stepmother and father after her biological mother separated from her father.
Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson says the suspect is currently in police custody as investigations into this heinous crime continue.
