In a significant milestone for Uganda’s financial sector, Pride Bank Limited officially launched five new financial solutions on the morning of Tuesday, June 24, 2025, during a well-attended ceremony held at its Head Office in Bukoto, Kampala.
The event was presided over by the bank’s Managing Director, Veronicah Gladys Namagembe, and marked a key chapter in Pride Bank’s ongoing transformation journey following its rebrand from Pride Microfinance Uganda. The newly launched products are designed to meet the dynamic financial needs of Ugandans in both urban and rural areas.
The offerings unveiled include Mortgage Loans aimed at making homeownership more accessible, and Home Improvement Loans that will support families seeking to enhance or expand their residences. Also introduced were SME Corporate Loans tailored to empower entrepreneurs with working capital for business growth, Forex Savings Accounts for individuals and businesses seeking foreign currency savings options, and Trade Finance Solutions to facilitate smoother commercial transactions and support Uganda’s vibrant import-export sector.
Speaking at the launch, Ms. Namagembe emphasized the deeper significance of the institution’s rebranding and product expansion. “Our transition to Pride Bank was more than a rebrand — it’s proof that a truly local institution can evolve, innovate, and remain rooted in its mission to serve Ugandans,” she said. “These new financial solutions are not just products; they are tools to unlock the aspirations of individuals, families, and businesses across the country.”
The ceremony attracted key stakeholders including members of the board, government representatives, media, and clients. The launch comes as Pride Bank continues to scale its impact across the country, having already disbursed over 2.2 million loans, financed UGX 3 trillion, and supported more than 1 million school fees payments.
Founded with a mission to promote financial inclusion and economic empowerment, Pride Bank Limited has grown into one of Uganda’s most influential financial institutions. Its latest product suite signals a clear commitment to innovation, accessibility, and the long-term prosperity of Ugandans.
Ms. Namagembe also expressed deep gratitude to the Government of Uganda, customers, staff, and the bank’s board of directors for their unwavering support. “We are proud to be a bank built by Ugandans, for Ugandans. Together, we are redefining what it means to serve and succeed in the financial sector,” she concluded.
The event capped a historic moment not just for Pride Bank, but for Uganda’s banking landscape at large — reaffirming the institution’s place as a trusted and progressive partner in national development.
