Presidents Museveni and Tshisekedi Reaffirm Commitment to Regional Peace and Economic Ties

At the invitation of His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda, His Excellency Felix Tshisekedi, President of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), conducted a working visit to Uganda on the 30th of October, 2024.

President Tshisekedi was warmly welcomed at State House, Entebbe, by his host, President Museveni.

Accompanying the President of the DRC were his ministers and other senior government officials, underscoring the significance of the visit.

In their bilateral discussions, the two Heads of State exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, reviewed the current situation and developments within the region, and reaffirmed their shared commitment to regional peace and security.

Additionally, both leaders highlighted the importance of strengthening the economic and commercial ties that exist between Uganda and the DRC. They acknowledged the essential role these connections play in promoting growth and stability not only within their respective countries but also across the wider East African region.
