She credited these programs with positively impacting the lives of Ugandans, especially the youth. Her comments came during an event where trainees from the Nakulabye Skilling Center showcased the products they had created during their six months of free skills training.
Namuganza specifically praised the PISGBC project for its significant role in providing valuable skills to disadvantaged youth in Kampala.
The PISGBC project operates nine skilling centers across the five divisions of Kampala City.
Namuganza also extended her gratitude to Jane Barekye, the State House Comptroller, and Dr. Faith Katana Mirembe, the Special Presidential Assistant on Education and Skilling, who also heads the project. She acknowledged their pivotal roles in the project’s success.
Furthermore, Namuganza pledged to assist the beneficiaries by engaging with President Museveni to explore potential markets for their high-quality products.
Naikazi Sarah, the Administrator of Nakulabye Skilling Center, shared that they had trained 420 participants, including 52 boys and 368 girls, in various vocational disciplines during a free six-month training program.
The training covered five courses, namely tailoring, hairdressing, shoemaking, knitting, and embroidery.
