President Yoweri Museveni has thanked the 19 UPDF Generals who were recently cleared to retire from the army for their contribution to the country and Africa.
Mr Museveni who is also the commander-in-chief of the armed forces on Monday evening met the generals at a colourful ceremony at State House Entebbe.
The president awarded the 19 generals with certificates before walking them out of State House through the main gate, a tradition that is observed whenever high ranking UPDF officers are being discharged from the force.
The officers include one full General, four Major Generals and fourteen Brigadier Generals. Generals Koreta and David Sejusa were not on the final list of the retirees this year.
Last year, eleven Generals were discharged from the army at a similar function at State House Entebbe.
