President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has been actively conducting nationwide tours to assess the performance of the Parish Development Model (PDM), a government initiative aimed at transforming subsistence households into income-generating entities.
These tours have taken the President to various sub-regions, where he engages directly with local communities, evaluates the implementation of PDM projects, and commissions key development initiatives.
In December 2024, President Museveni visited the Sebei Sub-Region as part of his wealth creation and PDM performance assessment tour. During this visit, he commended local farmers for embracing the PDM funds to create wealth. Notably, he praised Ms. Yapsiwa Doreen, a beneficiary engaged in zero grazing, banana cultivation, and coffee planting, for her efforts in utilizing PDM resources effectively.
Prior to his visit to Sebei, the President conducted a PDM regional wealth creation assessment tour in the Teso Sub-Region.
President Museveni has completed touring the Karamoja and Elgon regions as part of his PDM performance assessment. These tours involved evaluating the implementation of PDM projects and engaging with local communities to promote socio-economic transformation.
These assessment tours are integral to the government’s strategy of uplifting 3.5 million households from subsistence farming to the money economy through the Parish Development Model.
