President Museveni to Address Nation Ahead of Thursday Election
President Yoweri Museveni will today address the nation ahead of the January 14 presidential and parliamentary election.
Mr Museveni confirmed the development through his social media channels.
“I will address the country today ahead of Thursday’s Presidential and Parliamentary elections,” he said via Twitter Tuesday morning.
The address will be broadcast on all TVs and radios across the country, according to the tweet, which shows the speech will be delivered starting 7pm.
On Thursday Ugandans will go to polling stations to pick the next president and choose new Members of Parliament.
Campaigns began November 9, 2020, and they end today, January 12, 2021.
There are 11 presidential candidates in the race and they are Yoweri Museveni (NRM), Mugisha Muntu (Alliance for National Transformation), Robert Kyagulanyi (National Unity Platform) and Nobert Mao (Democratic Party).
The other candidates are contesting as independents and they are Henry Tumukunde, Joseph Kabuleeta, John Katumba, Fred Mwesigye, Nancy Kalembe and Willy Mayambala.
