President Museveni Reshuffles Special Forces Command Leadership
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has made changes to the Special Forces Commands (SFC) by shuffling five commanders.
The Deputy UPDF Spokesperson, Col. Deo Akiiki, announced the adjustments, revealing that Col. Allan Matsiko, who served as the director of intelligence in SFC, will now lead the 303 Brigade. Col. Matsiko held the intelligence role for 16 months.
Col. Asinguza Muserebende, the former director of SFC’s training, has been appointed as the commander of Special Forces Group One (1SFG). Lt. Col. Bagonza has been promoted to full Colonel and assigned as the commander of Special Forces Group Two (2SFG).
Col. Seruyange, who previously served as a military attaché for Uganda in Saudi Arabia, has been appointed as the Director under Special Forces Command. Although his specific duties were not outlined, it is understood that he has taken over the role of SFC’s intelligence director from Col. Matsiko.
Lt. Col. Kafeero remains in his position as Deputy Director of Intelligence in SFC. Minister for Defence Vincent Ssempijja has congratulated the senior officers on their well-deserved promotions, transfers, and appointments.
SFC is a military unit responsible for safeguarding President Museveni, his family, important government facilities, and other government officials.
